Sandpoint, with a population of 8,700, serves as the business hub for the county’s 45,000 year-round residents as well as the many tourists that flock to Sandpoint in the summer for the magnificent mountains and 40-mile-long Lake Pend Oreille; and in winter, to ski fabulous Schweitzer, the largest ski resort in the Inland Northwest.
